From download to modded session in three steps

ReSkate verifies your game build, updates itself, and merges mods at launch.

1

Install the launcher

Download the latest ReSkate zip from GitHub Releases and extract ReSkateLauncher.exe and ReSkate.dll into your skate. folder (or an empty folder to let it install the game for you).

2

Verify your build

The launcher checks for ReSkate updates and verifies your game files against the supported build. If files are missing, it downloads only what it needs via your Steam account.

3

Drop in mods and play

Install mods from the launcher's MODS page or drop a zip into Mods/. Press PLAY—mods merge into the game at launch, and most changes apply without a restart.

ReSkate features

Everything ReSkate adds to skate.

Offline play, multiplayer, an in-game menu, a park editor, and a mod loader—all in one open-source package.

Offline play

No EA servers needed. Your skater, outfits, unlocks, and progress are saved locally, and the game runs even with Steam closed.

Lobbies and dedicated servers

Host a Steam lobby for up to 32 players (public, code-joined, or password-protected) or run a headless dedicated server and join via the in-game server browser.

Voice, chat, parties and throwdowns

Proximity voice and text chat with emotes, lobby and server parties, plus Jam, Spot Battle, and S.K.A.T.E. throwdowns with co-op challenges.

Mods that merge at launch

Drop a mod into Mods/ to merge it into the game on startup. Mods can add custom maps, loading screens, cosmetics, and scripts—most without requiring a restart.

In-game menu and console

Fast-travel map, time-of-day controls, Park Editor with freecam and snapping, plus skater options like first-person view, boosts, and noclip.

Launcher and dedicated server

The launcher keeps ReSkate updated and pins the supported game build. ReSkateServer.exe runs a headless lobby requiring neither Steam nor the game, with a native Linux build included.

Three ReSkate components

A launcher, a runtime, and a dedicated server

Each component handles a single job, licensed under GPL-3.0 open source.

Build checks

Compares your local files against the supported Steam build (25414733).

Targeted downloads

Downloads only missing files using your Steam account.

Built-in mod browser

Browse and install Thunderstore mods directly inside the launcher.

Settings and flags

Configure menu/console keys, crash reporting, and CLI flags like --offline and --no-gui.

Launcher

ReSkateLauncher.exe verifies your game build, updates ReSkate, and launches your modded session.
